The Lake Wilks track branches off the Lake Dove circuit in the Ballroom Forest, at the southwest corner of Lake Dove. The climb is not terribly difficult by
Tasmanian standards, but care is needed as the weather is notoriously changeable and there is some scrambling involved. Lake Wilks is around 150 vertical metres
above Lake Dove, and it is a little over 0.7km from Lake Dove to the mouth of Lake Wilks.
