It wasn't terribly difficult to get a slow enough shutter speed to blur the water, as it was overcast and I was under tree cover. What took time was getting the composition right - I've learned over the years just how easy it it to forget to pay attention to the edges of the frame, especially when shooting with a wide angle lens. Yes, it's always possible to crop distractions, but I think it's worth the time to position the camera just right to get the image I want. After all, high megapixel cameras aren't cheap, and cropping because you missed something is just throwing away resolution needlessly.

Shot on a Nikon D700 and an AF 17-35mm f2.8 lens at 28mm.
