The hotel had the great idea of naming each of the rooms for the peaks that could be seen from Gornergrat. And your room number was the peak's height in metres above sea level. So we stayed in Weisshorn, which was room 4505. Weisshorn is one of the highest peaks in the vicinity and is, in fact 27 metres higher than the Matterhorn. It was first climbed in 1861, four years before the first ascent of the Matterhorn.

Shot on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 using a Nikon F5 and an AF 80-200mm f2.8 lens at 200mm.
