I found much of the scenery in Tierra Del Fuego very reminsicent of Tasmania - from what looked remarkably like button grass, cushion plants up around and above the tree line and, of course, the presence of Northofagus everywhere. The South American varieties are much larger than the Tasmanian Northofagus gunnii, but it all combined to provide a real feeling of familiarity.

Shot on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 using a Nikon F5 and an AFS 17-35mm f2.8 lens at 20mm.
